The Miami County Democratic Party wishes everyone a Happy New Year.  We have accomplished a great deal over the last year, including the election of Jon Faust as County Commissioner.  Jon was sworn in on December 23rd and joins Greg Deeds as two of three Commissioners who are Democrats.

As we enter into a new political era, we can be assured that Miami County Democrats have played a role in the election of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States.  The razor thin losses in the county election were a hard blow, but we had the best showing that we have had for many years.  This was due to the excellence of our candidates and to their hard work.  We thank all of them including Betty Hunter, Vicki Wheeler, Pat Arrick, Dick Lancaster, and Corey Gross for their efforts.

Now is the time to build for the future.  Let's make 2009 a great year for the Democratic Party.
